Long running and smooth performance are typical for Cast and Extruded Nylon. Nylon comes in a wide range of sizes and shapes, including small diameter rod to massive diameters. The Dupont Cast Nylon type 66 material are commonly available.

Between the Delrin and Acetal rods, both materials are quite durable and easily machinable, as they have very similar physical properties. They do appear the same, but for practical use there are some differences that can make one preferable than the other. It also depends heavily on your application.
